HAFU: The film

At the JALT International Conference

Tsukuba

5pm to 7pm

Friday November, 21, 2014

Convention Hall, Room 200

The Bilingualism SIG is proud to sponsor a special showing of the award-winning feature-length HD documentary film, “Hafu”. The film follows the lives of five half-Japanese people as they explore multiracial/multicultural issues in a nation that largely views itself as mono-ethnic.

The film will be followed by an open discussion that will be of particular interest to parents who are raising children in two or more languages and cultures. If you like, please join us afterwards for a meal as well.

The event is limited to 50 participants and reservations can be made via the SIG’s Facebook page or by contacting Tim Greer at tim@kobe-u.ac.jp.

The event is free for SIG members, but non-SIG members are also welcome to attend for a 500 yen (with reservation) or 1000 yen (without a reservation).
